Quality Preservation Services? Square Peg In a Round Hole?

As we move further into the realm of Preservation Services we have seen it all. Quality seems to go downhill as National firms are not providing proper nor legal services.

A primary example of this is the tendency of some firms to do a "trash out" service prior to the homeowner completely moving out. Providing no storage for personal property prior to the receivership. This is illegal in most states and should be viewed on a case by case basis. Equicore has provided storage for personal items for the required amount of time where needed.

The National firms that hire local contractors also have performed shady or non complete services. In Minnesota for instance you cant provide a half winterization - It needs to be done to full specifications to provide protection of the banks asset. In some states licensed plumbers are required to perform a proper winterization.

It just seems that in our experience that quality over all is suffering. We understand that the banks wish to keep costs to a minimum. If that savings translates into more time in managing these tasks, shoddy work, damages, and overall leaving open doors for a lawsuit it is no savings.

We feel it is high time local or regional preservation firms pull together to provide quality services. Nationals have turned equity preservation into a low cost butter churn of potential disasters. We are in a business of protecting assets for profit, not to be a middleman and skim profits so that quality in the end suffers.
